I am amazed at the relevance of Third New Hope and the visionary capacity of Pastor Branch. The vision of emphasizing transformation churchwide and employing the aid of a fascinating book, Treasures of a Transformed Life, is incredible.
Pastor Smith's emphases on Presence, Prayer, Gifts, and Service is revolutionary for today's church. It is strangely comparable to the incredible campaign being led by Barak Obama, where all kinds of people are being called upon to create a movement of political empowerment, and in this instance Christian empowerment.
The illustration of "something catching our eye" speaks profoundly to John Ed Matthison's observation that "many of us have become complacent, maybe even bored, with the idea of living a life that glorifies God." I am eager to employ the impact of this experience in my own place of service, the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.
May God be praised for the wonderful experience of the Transformation Revival. A. C. Bernstine

I too am amazed. I am amazed that long before it was decided to embrace Treasures of a transformed life, God gave Pastor Branch the provision to have Pastor Bernstine as our Preaching Pastor. I was watching the DVDs from the last time Dr. Bernstine was at Third New Hope. He was preaching about life changing transformation and we didn't even realize it.
Dr. Bernstine's reference to "many of us have become complacent, maybe even bored, with the idea of living a life that glorifies God."
Could it be that we are complacent/bored because "we can't see beyond our present circumstances. We don't know how to let go of the left brain - logical, analytical, rational thinking..." (excerpt from Dr. Bernstine at TNH - 3/2007)
I now think beyond today and know that living a life that glorifies God will have great rewards in the end.
Sometimes you have to pull out an old sermon to gain new lessons.
Dr. Bernstine's reference to "many of us have become complacent, maybe even bored, with the idea of living a life that glorifies God."
Because this is a life long journey it's easy to become relaxed, or even lose focus on our relationship with God; that's why it's a good idea to reach back and remember how God brought you to this point in life and know he will take you to the end.
Give God the Glory!!!!!
Dr. Berstine,
You are an amazing and powerful blessing. You brought a word from God that has challenged our way of thinking. The word that you brought will have a lasting effect on the transformation that is taking place in my life. Thank you so much for your words of wisdom and your unique and wonderful way of bringing the word to us here at TNH.
