Wow! We started last evening with a mighty move of God. Teaching Pastor John Schmidt and Preaching Pastor Alvin Bernstine fed us with the word of God in such a powerful way. The focus was on "Presence." It was well emphasized that as the body of Christ, we need all of the members of our body present and active. The apostle Paul speaks of this in Romans 12:4-5 and 1 Corinthians 12:12-31. We are many different members but one body in Christ.
No "body" can reach its full potential without each of the various body parts. Neither can the church fulfill God's purpose for it without the full presence and participation of every member. Pastor Schmidt strongly emphasized the need for each member to be present and at attention! This is to say that we can't assume that our bodily presence is enough if our minds are elsewhere. What a challenge!
Many people embrace excuse after excuse for neglecting church attendance. For the sake of discussion, I would love to hear the positive reasons many people continue to attend church even though there is a broad array of excuses available. Why do you keep coming to church?
I'm also asking you to pray God's presence and power upon our Transformation Revival and upon our Teaching and Preaching Pastors. Blessings on you! Pastor E.L. Branch

This opening day for the revival was absolutly inspirational. We were recharged, and energized by the teaching, preaching & the psalmist. You don't want to miss a night.
I might be biased in my answer because I have been in church all of my life BUT I keep coming to church because my soul craves it! When I was younger, I always wondered what people did on Sundays if they did not go to church. Then as I got older and got more involved in my career, I quickly learned how easy it is to skip church. Often times I crave for a day to sleep in and often times Sunday feels like a great day to do it but the second that thought crosses my mind, i feel a tugging in my spirit because I know that my soul needs to be fed. I cant wait to hear the good word and find new ways to challenge myself spiritually.
WOW.... It is just awesome to witness the impact of the transformation call on the life of the TNH family. Thank you God!! Pastor, my decison to attend church began as a part of my tradition and heritage taught to me by my parents. I guess you could say I did not have a choice regarding attending church. In my growing up, my decision to now attend church is connected to my faith, knowledge of God's will and the wonderful joy of worshipping God and sharing with the people of faith. There is simply no better way to live the "rich" life. I am stronger, better, and wiser because of my journey to the house of God.
Thanks Pastor for constantly challenging us to do better and to be better people of God. I come to church every week to be refreshed and refueled. I too crave God's word and thank God for a church where the word is alive and relavant. I know that I have missed something awesome when I miss church. So, I try not to miss.
Great dialogue!
the reason that I keep coming to church or going to church, lives in the fact that the process of transformation takes place in the spirit by close fellowship with the Divine. Pastor Branch once shared with us ministers that if 500 people traveled one mile to hear a word from the Lord, then that's 500 miles traveled, so please make sure you have something for them to leave church with, therefore if the Lord lays on the heart of the Pastor to bring a "Rhema Revival" for the church, then one mile is worth the drive and 500 miles is worth the investment. So I never feel satisfied with missing an opportunity to hear a word from the Lord.
The Transformation Revival was awesome! The move of God was evident on Sunday with all of the people that joined church. I'm still praising God for the five that joined at the 8:00 service. We can also see transformation taking place with our present members that have been away. They're coming home! The right hand, left hand challenge was brilliant. Thanks Pastor for the challenge and reminding us that we are our brother's/sister's keeper. Peace
As a child I kept coming to curch because my mother made it a part of life. Now as an adult I keep coming to church because I have made it apart of my life. I love the way my heart, mind, and soul feels after hearing a powerful sermon. I also keep coming because I want my children to know that worshipping in the house of the Lord and getting together with our brothers and sisters in Christ is what God wants us to do. This is pleasing ot Him. I love coming to church, it is the place where I feel peace.
