Revival!

We have experienced an extremely powerful three days during the Transformation Revival. The teaching of Pastor John Schmidt and the preaching of Pastor Alvin Bernstine was simply beyond measure. The testimonies flowing from the people of God was a true reflection of the impact of this series of services. Every since we began this campaign we have seen God moving! The daily readings along with the small group meetings and Wednesday sessions have made for a journey that truly transforms lives. I hope you are experiencing change. Are you?

Pastor Schmidt skillfully emphasized the key elements of this study: Prayer, Presence, Gifts and Service. I hope we can all repeat them with ease and not only say them but live them out! It is so important that we are praying regularly. This means not simply praying in a crisis or when asked to do so, but living a life of prayer. How is your prayer life? Is it healthy? I certainly hope you will take advantage of this season of transformation to make the most of your prayer life.

Then we were taught the importance of Presence. Being there is key to making meaningful things happen. The people of God should be together for worship, fellowship and work. Your presence for church services is vital to your growth in faith and practice. (We all have hand-outs from each lesson shared by Pastor Schmidt. I hope we will refer to them often as we reflect on what we have received.) We must be present in mind and body. That is to say that our focus and energy must also be where our bodies are. God will not mark us present if our minds are elsewhere!

On Friday the emphasis was on Gifts. We heard a powerful perspective on giving! When our gifts are motivated by love it makes our giving more purposeful and dynamic. God loved us so much that he "gave," and our love for God should prompt our giving. I hope you got that! Throughout the teachings of the week, we heard the importance of Service. Every person has a God-appointed place to serve within the body of Christ. Through prayer and the encouragement of more mature believers we can all come to know our place in the family of God. Every person's skills and abilities are vital to the good health of the entire body. We must emphasize faithfulness as another key element to making it all work. It is my prayer that the people of God will grow in faithfulness.

Now, to the subject of "Trees." Pastor Bernstine blew us away each evening and each message had something to do with trees. The first tree was an unproductive tree that was given grace through which Pastor Bernstine declared "A Great Chance for a Great Change." The second tree was a fig tree that failed to produce and was cursed by Jesus because of the lack of productivity. It took up needed space, extracted nutrients from the soil, and received sunshine and care without producing any fruit. The next tree was used to make bitter waters sweet. Pastor Bernstine reminded us of the fact that moving with God requires us to take the bitter with the sweet. Wow! What great preaching.

This revival was a special blessing to me and I'm sure you were blessed as well. What message spoke to your spirit the strongest? What did you hear God saying to you through the lessons and the sermons presented by these men of God? Did the ministry of our Psalmist: Bill Moss, Jr. speak to you in any special way. Let us hear from you... Pastor E.L. Branch

This three day revival has totally revived me. My spirit was awakened to pray, be present, use my gift to serve, and to give as God has given to me. Each night was a powerful blessing from our teaching pastor, to our preaching pastor, to our psalmist, and then on Friday we were extra blessed with Ministry In Motion. These three days quenched a part of my thirst this has allowed me to keep moving alongs God's path even if that means taking the "bitter with the sweet". Each and every night when the service was over I could not wait until the next night. You are so right Pastor Branch when you said "I wish there were three more nights in the week". Let's keep this revival going TNH.

Much Love and Blessings

Divine Diva said "let's keep this revival going". To that I say amen! The three nights should serve to undergird and encourage us as we are on our way to transformation. They should not be thought of in terms of being over but rather as a kick-off for the revival process taking place in us every day.

May this 'season of revival and change' grant us peace, hope and a renewed commitment to our God, our Church, our Families and Friends and to the daily care of ourselves. In the words of the late Rev Dr Linda Hollies, "we are on our way to wonderful"! See you there...

I was truly blessed by the three day revival Pastor Schmidt could not have put it more plainly and if that was not enough Pastor Bernstine made it even clearer. We all have a part to play within the church family and it is important to follow our passions. If there is something to be done, it is up to me to do it. I am more determined to not walk away just on a spiritual high but to act upon what the Lord has shown me. I have gained a greater appreciation for my church family, ministry, and my Pastor. I look forward to growing and doing the Lord's will with all of my brothers and sisters in Christ. Keep praying, keep reading and keep meeting. God Bless

The three day revival has left me Transformed and Revived. The teachings of John Schmidt let me know that I am already collecting my treasures. The preaching of pastor Bernstein taught me that it started with a tree and ended with a tree. The beautiful sounds of the Psalmist Bill Moss and his group was a wonderful display of what kind be done when you use your God given talents to their fullest.
We must continue to read and study each day, share what we have read and learned with others and start to put into place the things that are emphasized in those readings.
How glorious it is that our Father has given us another opportunity to prepare ourselves for Him.What a wonderful thing it is to know that regardless of what we do, he is always their for us. Can the Father depend on you the same?

The Transformation revival was AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME...so great that it didn't bother me one bit that we didnt get out of church until after 10pm every night :) Just kidding, but for real, that revival was just what we needed. Over and over Pastor has preached about service and doing your part in the body of Christ and this revival was just the exclamation point at the end of the sentence. The main point that stuck with me from Pastor Schmidt was the simple statement that God created us to do his work. How simple, yet deep is that? Doing God's work is what we were created to do, so that is all we should be doing!!! There is so much more I can say about Pastor Schmidt's teachings but I will just say that I hope (as Min Genetta says) that we live out the message and don't let it die. Pastor Bernstein's message about God cursing the tree instead of cursing the unproductive, USELESS, fruitless church was EXCELLENT!! Bill Moss, Jr. was wonderful as well, his talent and love for Christ shined through! What a great time in the Lord! Let's do it again next year!

the revival for me was a combination review of all the things that our pastor has taught us down through the years. It was truly a blessing to be ministered to by our awesome guest. pastor bernstein and schmidt baked us a blessing, third new hope praise team and bill moss jr and our guest praise dancers iced it!Sometimes over my Christian walk I've dozed-off!!!! because of God's unmerited favor and GRACE on our lives we still get a chance to Wake Up and get back up again!TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

The message that touched me the most from Pastor Bernstein was "A Great Chance for A Great Change." When he said that God will keep digging and fertilizing, I thought about some deep issues in my life that are so deeply embedded that my spiritual life is sometimes hindered by them. And then when I heard the message, I began to put it all in perspective that the real transformation in my life is taking place because God is rooting up those issues and helping me to face them. I know that God is working on (and in) me and I believe that He is doing the same in Third New Hope.
